LRYO is pleased announce the 2008 Anton Family Foundation Solo Competition. First prize is an award of $1000 for future music development and a featured soloist performance with a senior ensemble at our Spring concert at the Paramount Theatre. Details
Start of the Spring Semester (1/11/08)
Our Spring Semester started today and we welcomed about half a dozen new faces to our groups. We still have room for new members - call Curtis at 802-773-4689 for more information. It looks to be an exciting season!
Excellent Exchange Concert!!! (1/05/08)
Last night's Exchange Concert between the LRYO and GMYO at the Bennington Center for the Arts was a wonderful success! Our musicians had a fun day together rehearsing, performing an interactive concert for elementary school students in the afternoon, enjoying social time and dinner (thanks, Ellen!) and playing an evening public concert. The venue was ideal and welcoming (thanks, Elizabeth!). What a great place to make music! The combined groups formed an orchestra of 62 members. It's too bad we only get together once a year!

By all accounts, our Winter Concert was a Tremendous Success!!!
Playing to a packed house at Castleton State College, our musicians' and conductors'
hard work this semester was evident to all! Keep up the great work! We're looking
forward to an exciting Spring Semester, culminating in our May 4th concert with
guest artist Elisabeth Von Trapp at The Paramount Theatre in Rutland.

Thanks to Kalle, Melissa, Reggie and Jenna who played wonderfully
at the
fundraiser for the Bowen-Walker Emergency Relief
Fund, established in 1884,
which was hosted at the Pittsford Library on Wednesday. They played
background music during a silent auction and hors d'ouevre reception
before and after the featured speaker.
We received numerous compliments about their playing. Thanks all!

What a GREAT start!!! (9/10/07)
We opened our season Friday with 74 musicians! The Concert
Band is off to an especially strong start with 17 players this semester!
We still
have open seats in all groups and would love to see additional new
faces. Our Kinhaven Retreat was remarkable: great parent attendance,
pleasant weather, strong efforts from all of our musicians, informal
concerts celebrating the day's work and a fun
overnight experience for 13 campers. Kinhaven reflections coming
soon.

If you know of anyone interested in auditioning, our contact
number is 802-773-4689. Auditions are not mandatory for current LRYO students, with the exception of those who would like to move up a group. If you are interested in changing groups, please call Curtis at above number to schedule an audition slot.
