Lakes Region Youth Orchestra Memo - 9/28/2007
By Curtis Moeller - LRYO Administrator
Program Advertisers
It is time for our first Fund-raiser of the year! We need to get enough advertisers to cover the cost of printing and designing our 2007-2008 Program. And if we are as successful as last year, we could actually make a profit!
Once again, the process is going to be a little different this year.
Who is soliciting the advertisers? Our Parent Fund-raising Committee has graciously taken on a large number of our regular advertisers! A few board members, directors, and myself will also help. The rest falls to the students.
Which students are soliciting? Every Honors Strings and Wind Ensemble member will be assigned one business to contact. As the oldest members of the organization, we want them to invest in LRYO and to give back a little of what LRYO has given them. The remainder of the students are not required to solicit advertisers, but we greatly encourage it! Remember, many hands make light work!
How do we do it? Each student has received a rates/registration form for the potential advertiser. If the business is near, the student will set up an appointment to meet with the appropriate business representative and ask if they want to advertise in our program. When the business is too far away, simply call and ask if they would be interested. You may then mail them the rates/registration form, or fill it out yourself and return it to the LRYO office. We also plan to thank every advertiser, so please pick up a pre-made card to give/send to the advertising business.
What businesses are you soliciting? I have included a list of the businesses which have already been assigned on the back of this memo. These businesses have either advertised with us in the past or in similar programs.
What about parent well-wishes? Personal, ¼ page memos will only cost $35!
When does this happen? NOW! Please try to get these out soon; they must be returned by October 26! Thanks!
